ARTIST'S NOTE:
There is perhaps a sadness in this piece, some trace of loss. The two versions show slightly different ways in which the woman faces her sadness. In one she is serene, quiet, clothed. In the other she is naked, facing the wilder part of the realm she is in without protection.
I prefer the nude, but both have value I think.
