I love this quote. It is so true that when we encounter true beauty it can be unnerving, overwhelming. This is true in nature, and also true in human form. And perhaps that's exactly how it should be. Why should beauty be quaint, pretty, safe?

The gothic female is a powerful embodiment of this potent and perilous energy. For me, she has been a constant beguiling muse throughout my career. These works reflect some of my encounters with that deadly beauty.
