ALPHA OMEGA V

October 25th 2022

Now here's one that was a lesson - a lesson I struggle to learn! Namely - follow an image, don't steer it. Watch it and see where it wants to go. I developed the head and torso in Dream. But straight away I saw it as a nude in darkest shadow, maybe with an inferno rising around her. Well, look what happened, once I got out of the way. To me, she looks like an obvious successor to one of my most popular images - the original Alpha Omega. But I had no idea at the outset.

HADES : THE IRON ANGEL (Retitled)

October 24th 2022

Like so many of us, the last months have seen me delve deeper and deeper into the whole world of A.I. I've explored many different packages, including the mighty Midjourney! But so far, the package that has lent itself best to the way I work has been Dream. Using A.I is a balancing act - who's doing the art? Some packages takeover. Dream has allowed me to develop and mutate very specific assets for a piece, and integrate those into my more established long-term workflows. These first pieces are some of the best examples I have of those first few weeks of working with Dream. I hope you enjoy them!

 UNTITLED work in progress

I thought it might be cool to share a piece I am working on right now. I've never shared an unfinished piece of art in the public domain before, but I thought it might interest fellow artists to see how I try to establish the initial dynamic of an image. If there isn't that 'click' early on, then I never find it, and the image just gets further and further away from me. This one looks like it will make it to the finish line. Famous last words!
